About the event

The sound of bells resonates throughout recorded human history.

Societies as far apart as the British Isles to Far East Asia used bells to make music, warn of danger, celebrate joyous occasions and help people worship. The ringing of bells helped shape human history.  It was especially in the Western world, however, that bells reached their zenith in design and permeated nearly every aspect of life. Today and across the globe, bells and their modern electronic and digital descendants pervade nearly every aspect of human life.

Join us, Saturday, April 29th, 2023, at 10:00 AM, for a brief overview of the history of bells, how they helped shaped civilizations, made possible the modern world and became part of our community's "soundscape." Plus, learn how you can have the bells rung or a song played on our community's bells to commemorate a special event or person in your life.

Free to the public, participants can join us IN-PERSON at the Fluvanna Church or ONLINE.  Just click the RSVP button below.
