The Fluvanna Community Historical Society, in partnership with Everwild Land Trust, invites you to a hands-on program built around a simple idea: the historic landscape and native plants of Fluvanna belong not only in preserves, but in our own yards and gardens.
Fluvanna’s woods, wetlands, and shoreline support a rich and enduring natural environment. Spaces such as the Bird Sanctuary/Bentley Nature Preserve and what the early settlers called the "vly," reflect that legacy and continue to shape the character of the community today.
The program begins with a brief overview of Fluvanna’s natural landscape and ecological history, along with ongoing efforts to increase appreciation for the flowers, plants, birds, and wildlife that are distinctive to this area. We will also share news about the exciting initiatives taking shape to enhance access to these spaces and connect more people with them in meaningful ways.
