What is AmazonSmile:
AmazonSmile is a program whereby the Amazon Foundation donates to your favorite, charity-of-choice (which just happens to be the Fluvanna Community Historical Society). Every time you make an eligible purchase from Amazon, the Historical Society will receive a donation from Amazon.
How AmazonSmile Works:
Sign-up & Pick the Historical Society
Firstly, sign-up for AmazonSmile using your web browser or the Amazon app. It's free! Make sure to chose the Fluvanna Community Historical Society as your charity-of-choice (see the sections below for further instructions).
How to Turn on AmazonSmile in the Mobile App.:
GET THE APP
Download or update to the latest version of the Amazon Shopping app on your phone. You can find it in the App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android.
Start shopping! Once AmazonSmile has been activated in your app, future eligible app purchases will generate a donation for the charity you have selected.

TURN ON AMAZONSMILE
Open the app and find "Settings" in the main menu (☰). Tap on 'AmazonSmile' and follow the on-screen instructions to turn on AmazonSmile on your phone.
How to Use AmazonSmile on Your Computer, iPad or Tablet Device:
Sign-in with the same account you use for Amazon.com, if you're not automatically signed-in already.
SELECT YOUR CHARITY
Fluvanna Community Historical Society should already be selected as your favorite, charity-of-choice. The page should read, "Support Fluvanna Community Historical Society.
If not, search for and select FLUVANNA COMMUNITY HISTORICAL SOCIETY from the list of charities.

How do I know that I signed-up for the Amazon donations to go to the Historical Society?You'll be able to tell that we're designated as your charity-of-choice if you see the AmazonSmile logo in the corner of the page and "Supporting Fluvanna Community Historical Society" below the search bar.
How can I find out the amount of donated to the Historical Society by Amazon because of my purchases?Navigate to the top of the page you're shopping from, locate the AmazonSmile logo in the corner of the page and "Supporting Fluvanna Community Historical Society" below the search bar. When you hover over the name of the Historical Society, you can see additional information about us and track the donation amount you've generated through your purchases.
Does AmazonSmile cost me anything?No. The Amazon Foundation directly makes the donation in your name, based on the percentage of total eligible purchases. You won't pay extra for anything when you use AmazonSmile.
Do AmazonSmile donations qualify me for a tax deduction?No (unless your Amazon). Since the AmazonSmile Foundation makes the actual donation, with no cost to you, AmazonSmile donations do not qualify as tax deductions for shoppers.
Do I need to renew AmazonSmile?AmazonSmile renewals happen twice a year to help keep AmazonSmile on mobile app. AmazonSmile will notify you of these renewals via push notifications and through in-app notifications. If you miss a renewal you can reactivate at any time by repeating the steps to “turn on” AmazonSmile on your mobile device. There is no renewal period for browser shopping on AmazonSmile, which you can use anytime by typing ‘smile.amazon.com’ into your browser.
What is the AmazonSmile Foundation?The AmazonSmile Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private foundation created by Amazon to administer the AmazonSmile program. All donation amounts generated by the AmazonSmile program are remitted by a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. to the AmazonSmile Foundation. In turn, the AmazonSmile Foundation donates those amounts to the charitable organizations selected by our customers. Amazon pays all expenses of the AmazonSmile Foundation; they are not deducted from the donation amounts generated by purchases on AmazonSmile.
